Maternal/Infant bonding is known to be crucial for the infant's emotional well being to form a strong parent attachment and subsequent sense of Self. It has been found in recent years that bonding disruptions in conception, pregnancy, the birth process, and the crucial minutes, hours and days immediately following the birth can lead to physical and emotional health and development issues in the newborn, following into childhood. Some of these issues include; infant asthma, feeding challenges, colic, intense emotional expression, developmental movement delays, sleep problems, social relationships, and more.

Many of our current day medical practices in birth lead to prolonged physical separation of the infant from the mother/father. This can lead to birth trauma and bonding disruption of the intense physical, emotional, and spiritual maternal/infant bond.

This presentation identifies bonding disruption events, and encourages professionals and lay people to consider how to support the bonding process by introducing bonding repair treatments. $20 suggested donation.
